# Privacy policy

> How the Cadmus mobile app collects, uses, and shares information for agency field users.

**Effective date:** October 7, 2026

This policy describes the **Cadmus** mobile app for agency field users (Android package `app.cadmus.mdt`), published by **Autonomy Today, LLC**. It covers that app only.

## Accounts

Your agency issues your Cadmus account. You do not create a public consumer account in the app. Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider, Clerk.

The app uses:

* Name, email, and username
* Badge or similar agency identifier
* Agency and role

## Location

The app collects precise location, including while Cadmus is in the background, and sends it to your agency’s dispatchers so they can see your unit. Location can include latitude, longitude, heading, speed, and accuracy.

## Camera, photos, and license scans

The camera is used for evidence photos and for scanning a driver’s-license barcode. A scan can include the name, date of birth, license number, address, and the other fields encoded on the barcode.

The app does not record or upload microphone audio.

## Calls and other agency work

Calls, notes, chat, citations, evidence, and similar work product stay inside your agency’s Cadmus organization and are visible to people your agency authorizes.

## Device and alerts

The app stores a device identifier and a Firebase Cloud Messaging token so it can deliver alerts to that device. Firebase Analytics is turned off. Cadmus does not include an advertising SDK or a crash-analytics SDK.

## Map, address lookup, and weather

While you use the map, the visible map area can be requested from the provider for that style:

* CARTO for the standard day and night maps
* Esri for aerial imagery
* Mapbox when a Mapbox style is selected

Looking up an address can send that address, or a latitude and longitude, to OpenStreetMap.

Weather forecasts come from the National Weather Service. Radar imagery comes from RainViewer, or from the Iowa Environmental Mesonet if RainViewer is unavailable.

## Bluetooth

Bluetooth is used to print to a portable printer. That traffic stays between the device and the printer.

## What we do not do

* We do not sell personal information.
* We do not show ads in the app.
* We do not read phone contacts.
* The app is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly create children’s accounts.

## How we share information

We share information with:

* Your agency and the people it authorizes inside Cadmus
* Clerk, to sign you in
* Google Firebase, for the push token used to deliver alerts
* CARTO, Esri, or Mapbox, for the map style you are viewing
* OpenStreetMap, when you look up an address
* The National Weather Service, RainViewer, and, if needed, the Iowa Environmental Mesonet, for weather and radar

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or if the business is transferred, with notice where the law requires notice.

## Security

Cadmus sends data over encrypted connections. Sign-in tokens are stored in secure storage on the device. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.

## How long we keep it

Account and device details are kept while the account is active. Agency operational records are kept under your agency’s retention rules. To ask us to delete your account and the personal data tied to it, use [Account and data deletion](/legal/account-deletion).
