# BOLOs and warrants

View active BOLOs broadcast from dispatch and search warrant information from the MDT.

<Note>
  BOLOs require the agency **CAD** module. E-citation-only agencies do not see **Warrants & BOLOs** in the sidebar.
</Note>

<Note>Screenshot placeholder: WARRANTS & BOLOS screen with tabs</Note>

## Open

Sidebar → **Warrants & BOLOs** (or equivalent menu label in your deployment).

## Prerequisites

* Your agency has CAD enabled (not e-citation-only).
* You are signed in on the mobile MDT.

## Tabs

| Tab                                | Purpose                                       |
| ---------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------- |
| **Warrants** / **Active Warrants** | Search active warrant records |
| **BOLOs**                          | Active be-on-the-lookout alerts from dispatch |

## Search

Use **SEARCH DATABASE…** to filter by subject name, charge, BOLO title, or summary.

Pull down to **refresh** the list. If load fails, tap **RETRY** on the error banner.

<Note>Screenshot placeholder: Search field and WARRANTS / BOLOS tab switcher</Note>

## Warrants list

In **live mode**, warrants are not pre-loaded. Enter a subject **last name** (or `Last, First`) in **SEARCH DATABASE…** and tap the **Search** arrow (or press Enter). Results come from a **CJIS wanted-person query** for your agency. Confirm extradition and status with dispatch before enforcement.

In **Training Mode**, the app shows explicit sample warrant records for practice. These are **not** live CJIS data.

If NCIC access is disabled for your agency, the warrants tab shows a notice and search is unavailable.

Desktop layout shows columns:

* **STATUS**
* **SUBJECT NAME**
* **DOB**
* **CHARGE**
* **BOND**
* **AGENCY**
* **ACTIONS** → **DETAILS**

Compact layout uses cards with the same information.

### Warrant details

**DETAILS** opens **WARRANT DETAILS**:

* **ACTIVE WARRANT CONFIRMED** banner
* **EXTRADITION LIMITS MAY APPLY. CONFIRM WITH DISPATCH.**
* Grid: **SUBJECT**, **DOB**, **CHARGE**, **BOND**, **DATE ISSUED**, **ISSUING AGENCY**
* **CLOSE**

<Note>Screenshot placeholder: WARRANT DETAILS dialog</Note>

<Tip>In **Training Mode**, sample warrants are shown for practice only. In **live mode**, search by name to run a CJIS wanted-person query — there is no standing warrant feed in the MDT until you search.</Tip>

## BOLOs grid

Each BOLO card shows:

* Type (e.g. stolen vehicle, wanted person, missing person, information)
* **Title** and summary text
* **Priority** badge (High / Medium / Low)
* Thumbnail image when dispatch attached a photo
* Time issued (relative, e.g. “2h ago”)

Tap a card for **BOLO DETAILS** — full image, type, title, summary, and extended **details** text.

<Note>Screenshot placeholder: BOLO card grid with priority colors</Note>

BOLOs update in near real time when dispatch publishes or cancels alerts.

## Voice announcement

Settings → **Announce BOLO**

When enabled, the device speaks **“New BOLO — {title}”** when a new BOLO arrives after you open the screen.

See [Settings and display](/mobile/settings-and-display).

## Relationship to dispatch

Dispatchers create BOLOs from **Dispatch CAD** (header **BOLO** or dashboard **BOLOs** tab). Field units see the same active list here.

See **Dispatch CAD** documentation: [BOLO, greaseboard, and wrecker](/dispatch/bolo-greaseboard-wrecker).

## Tips

* Refresh after long offline periods.
* Read full **BOLO DETAILS** before initiating a stop — photos and narrative may not fit on the card.
* For warrants, always confirm **STATUS** and extradition limits with dispatch or records.

## Warnings

<Warning>BOLO and warrant information may contain sensitive PII — follow CJIS and agency dissemination policy.</Warning>

<Warning>Do not rely on training or sample warrant data for enforcement — verify live records through dispatch or NCIC when required.</Warning>
