Enable for an organization
1
Set the NWS destination email
In Web Admin, open Settings and find NWS Weather Forwarding. Enter the forecast-office address (for example
contact.sgf@noaa.gov). Leave blank to disable all NWS forwards for the org.2
Confirm the Weather Report type
Every agency receives a protected Weather Report incident type with NWS forward enabled. It cannot be deleted or renamed. Dispatchers should use this type (or another type you flag below) for weather spotter reports.
3
Optionally flag other weather types
On any other incident type (Tree Down, Flooding, Hail, Wind Damage, and so on), enable Forward weather calls to NWS. Those types then use the same org destination email.
When emails send
PII and note content
Server-side gates skip confidential, CJIS-classified, and system-generated notes. Free-text general notes are still forwarded as typed — train staff to put weather facts only on NWS-forward types. On Dispatch CAD, NCIC/CJIS query actions are hidden for calls whose incident type has NWS forward enabled, and a short weather-facts hint appears on those calls. Mobile CAD is out of scope for this feature.Related
