Field interview reports (FIRs) document contacts and observations in the field. Use them when your agency policy requires a structured interview record separate from a CAD call.

Open

Sidebar → FIR (or Field Interviews).

Live vs training mode

If reports fail to load, the screen shows Could not load field interview reports.

Create a report

  1. Tap NEW FIR.
  2. Enter subject name, date of birth (optional), location, incident type, and narrative.
  3. Choose one of:
    • SAVE DRAFT — saves without submitting
    • SUBMIT REPORT — saves and marks the report submitted (check agency policy before submitting)

List and filters

The main screen lists your agency FIRs with:
  • Search — subject, location, or incident type
  • Status — All, Draft, Submitted, Approved
  • Date range — filter by report date
Tap a row to view details. Draft reports can be deleted from the detail view when your agency allows it.

Tips

  • Write narratives in plain language suitable for supervisor review.
  • Do not paste raw NCIC or CJIS text into the narrative unless your agency SOP allows it.
  • Pair with NCIC overview when a contact started from a query — use CREATE FIR from NCIC when offered.

Warnings

FIR availability and retention follow agency policy — confirm with your supervisor whether submitted reports are final.
Submitted reports may be discoverable under public records rules. Avoid unnecessary PII.
