GPS location tracking
Cadmus sends your position to dispatch so units appear on the live map. How tracking works depends on the device:Handheld phone tracking reports your GPS position. It does not move your apparatus on the dispatch board. That avoids duplicate markers when you are assigned to a vehicle that also reports MDT location.
Map icons
On the map and in dispatch CAD:- Vehicle icons (patrol car, fire truck, etc.) rotate with heading for apparatus / MDT telemetry.
- Phone icon (upright, no rotation) means the position came from a handheld officer GPS fix.

TODO — screenshot: Mobile map with a rotating vehicle unit icon and an upright phone icon (handheld officer). Capture both marker types on the same map if possible.
Start and stop (handheld)
- Open the dashboard LOCATION card or Settings → Location services.
- Grant location permission if prompted.
- Tap Start tracking to begin sending your position.
- Tap Stop tracking to end updates.
Troubleshooting
