The dispatch board’s Recent tab shows calls closed within the current session or a recent rolling window — it is not a complete archive. Find a Call gives you access to the full history of every call your agency has created, going back as far as your data retention policy allows. Use it to review prior incidents at a location, pull up a closed call that has dropped off the board, or look up a CFS number a field unit radioed in.
Historical call records may contain personally identifiable information (PII). Access and handle all records in accordance with your agency’s records policy and applicable law.

How to open Find a Call

You can open Find a Call from two places:
  • Header — click the history icon in the application header (tooltip: Find a Call).
  • Recent tab — click the Find a Call (full history) link at the bottom of the Recent board tab.

Search for a call

Once Find a Call is open, use the Search calls field to query the archive. Cadmus supports the following search inputs: Results appear in a paginated list showing the CFS number, incident type, location, and close date. The counter displays N / total so you know how many records matched.
Search by an address fragment (e.g., Elm St) rather than a full address when you are researching prior activity at a general area. This casts a wider net and surfaces calls with slightly different address formats.
When a field unit radios a CFS number, enter it exactly as given — including any leading zeros or agency prefix — to find the call immediately.

Open a search result

Click any result in the list to open its Call Detail page.
  • Closed calls — most fields are read-only. You can view all history, logs, notes, and unit assignments, but cannot add new logs or images.
  • Calls eligible for editing — some calls (e.g., recently closed or reopened with supervisor approval) may allow limited edits depending on your role and agency configuration.
If you need to make changes to a closed call, use Reopen Call in the app bar. Reopening requires supervisor approval at most agencies and generates an audit log entry.

  • Open the call in call detail via Find a Call.
  • Use your browser’s print function or any agency-configured export option within call detail.
